Pro. Jonathan Ngugi, is an associate professor of Information Technology at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK), Rwanda. He has experience in higher education, research, and technology innovation. His research and teaching expertise span data science, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, embedded systems, and cybersecurity. Currently on a second PhD in UK.
Prof. Ngugi has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, in addition to authoring books on data warehousing, Python programming, software testing, Digitalizing Teacher Education in Africa and many others. He has supervised numerous undergraduate, masters and doctoral theses, with a focus on IT applications for sustainable development, digital education, and healthcare solutions.
In addition to his teaching and research, he has served in leadership roles including Director of Quality Assurance at the International University of Equator and Head of ICT at UMMA University. He is a recipient of the Best Researcher Award at Greenwich University and a DAAD scholarship. Dr. Ngugi frequently contributes to international conferences as a keynote speaker and reviewer.
